Amazingly, Charles Vickery painted this scene more than a decade ago. An obvious departure from his usual subject matter, Freedom Forever came about during a burst of inspiration while he was working on another painting.

This vivid, impressionistic work wasn't meant to represent a particular event or time period. Instead, Vickery was showing the power and strength of our national symbol throughout the history of this great nation.

That message has never been clearer than it is today.
